Jaas wrote:Hi,

First of all, my DVBLink setup works perfect with WMC.

On my new Samsung UE50F6655SBXXE (2013) the system connect perfect with EPG and recorded items. My problem is with DVB-S/S2 channels (I Think). I can´t see any DVB-S/S2 channels with the app (encrypt or FTA) the only channels that is working is DVB-T (FTA) i don´t have any encrypt DVB-T channel so i can´t test that.

Best regards
Janne

You are another lucky person who has Samsung TV model of 2013. It has problems with trick modes when playing back transport stream files and cannot play transport stream with encrypted content at the beginning. There is a longer discussion here about it:

I have been waiting for this app, great idea :)
Everytime i power off my Samsung UE40ES6305 and turn it back on, it doesn't remember the settings for DVBLink server (server address and server port)

I just installed this to see if it would fix my skipping/forwarding/rewinding issues I am having when watching my DVBlink recorded TV through Plex. Unfortunately it didn't. The app works well - but it seems like my UA60F6400AM (2013 series) has the same problem that many others are referring to. So where to from here? I love DVBlink, I love Plex, but being unable to skip forward through adds, or resume a TV show from the last watched point is a big problem - my wife is not happy :( .

Just in case you are not aware - on the samsung 2013 series, the DVBlink clients (samsung and plex versions) both:
1) fast forward at 2x ok,
2) fast forward at 4x, 8x, 16x etc do not work - the show returns to 00:00
3) rewind does not work at all
4) skip forward works ok the first time but thenskips by ~4x the previous skip for each subsequent skip (ie, for a 2 hour movie the skips would be 2mins, 8 mins, 32mins, 2 hours) - making it unworkable
5) skip backward does not work.

Is this something that you can fix from your end?

Any ideas on a usable work around so that I can keep using my Synology/DVBlink combination as my PVR?

I am having the same issue faced by Hep and Ragu. I was able to successfully download the app, yet when I run it, it displays "connecting" then reboots my TV.

My Samsung model is the UN55D7050.

Does it require initial setup to connect to main server (DVBLink TVSource)? [It never gets into a setup section.]

Thanks!

Also UE40D8005 rebooting when trying to launch app. Are 2010/2011 models not supposed to be supported?

Frankly we are not sure at all that this Samsung SmartTV client will make its way to release. There are simply too many models, having different capabilities. So it iw very difficult to come to the common denominator, especially that not everything under our control and we cannot expect much cooperation from Samsung.

Too bad. I was really looking forward to this app, but understandable.

My understanding is that most of these models are setup for the various regions across the world and deals Samsung makes with various retailers. However, the basics of there Apps FW/SW is pretty much the same. It would be great if this can still come through. Thanks Oberon!

Many of us are having the same problem with the app restarting (as mentioned in previous posts).

A SmartTV client is a great idea. Please provide support for other vendors such as Philips or LG.
