New version of PHT channel problems

Postby banhuk » Thu Nov 14, 2013 1:54 pm

Any body using DVBLink channel for plex with the latest PlexPass version of PHT released a couple of days ago?

I find the new ugly channel icons terrible, and it no longer shows the next 3 upcoming shows..

Also, when you select a station, I get a greyish blank screen and no show or sound (that's with the new Plex skin).

Then when I tried the old Mediastream skin, when I selected a DVBLink under channels, I got no response. However if I pressed ctrl - e, I could get into the channel and everything worked.

Weird..

I posted over in Plex forums as well, just wondering if anyone here is experiencing the same thing?

Glad you've asked, I was just about to trial the new version of PHT...

Really hope it gets updated to work with the new version and skin...

Glad you asked and would love it if you got a response...for a commercial product that people pay money for responses are awfully slow..

We are not testing with any preliminary/closed/alpha/beta etc. versions. As soon as it will be released to the general public we will have a look.

I found out how to get the channels to play in the new version of PHT (with new PLEX skin)

once you select your tv channel to view (with enter key), you will see a greyish blank screen.

Simply hit enter again and it will play.

Not sure why this happens??

Also, in the previous version of Plex there was a manual hack/work around to set a interlace/deinterlace mode as default.

I can't seem to find this in the new PHT. I will ask over in PLEX forums, but if anyone here knows how??

Hooroo

you can set de-interlacing to automatic in the config file
~/Library/Plex Home Theater/userdata/guisettings.xml (on Mac and OSX)

find the line
<defaultvideosettings>
<deinterlacemode>0</deinterlacemode>
<interlacemethod>1</interlacemethod>
<scalingmethod>1</scalingmethod>

and change it to
<defaultvideosettings>
<deinterlacemode>1</deinterlacemode>
<interlacemethod>1</interlacemethod>
<scalingmethod>1</scalingmethod>

Same deal with Windows banhuk....just in something like c:\users\<youruserid>\appdata\roaming\plex etc. etc.

appdata is a hidden folder so ensure you can view hidden folders....

Hi Oberon,

It's be just shy of 1 month since you said you would look in to supporting DVBlogic with the released to public latest version of Plex HT....would you please be able to give us an update on when you can modify to work with their new skin?

Kind Regards

Scot

We are working on it. It is reasonably large effort as there were quite a number of modifications to the original theme.

Thanks Oberon...I'm holding off changing from "XBMC/PleXBMC/NextPVR" to PlexHT/DVBLogic....

Would love to see the following, if at all possible:

1. Working in the new skin for PlexHT
2. List view opens when in the TV Guide
3. Some nice icons when rendering TV Channels, TV Guide etc.
4. TV Logo's when in the relevant sections
5. Time-shift support when watching a show that is recording and you are watching that recording
and catch up to live in that it keeps playing (like NextPVR achieves with XNEWA)

Thanks heaps
