High decoding load on client

Postby Adamini » Wed Mar 01, 2017 4:23 pm

Hello,

I'm running the dvb-server Version: 6.0.0 Build: 14061 on a media pc with Intel Atom Z8300 “Cherry Trail” Quadcore processor. The receiver is a TV-Butler. The client is a older Notebook. The TV-Software is Kodi v. 17.0.
If I run Kodi directly on the media pc, the both HD-Channels in the german tvb-t2 bouquet which requires H.265 encoding can be received without problems, the cpu load is moderate.
If I receive the stream at the client (notebook), the picture comes a couple of seconds behind the sound. The cpu load is over 90 %. It is quite clear, that the client hardware can't decode the stream properly.
By using dvb viewer, the picture is very disturbed.
Is there a possibility to force the server software to decode the hvec-stream on the server-pc directly?

Thanks in advance

Ronald

You may enable Transcoding on the DVBlink PVR settings (on the client side) then you will receive a transcoded stream and all decoding load will be tied to server machine.
