24/7 recording randon 0KB for days

Postby nintari » Thu Aug 25, 2016 9:31 pm

We have a server setup with 6 HDHomerun tuners that is used to record 24/7. However For quite some time now we have had issues where the recordings suddenly don't happen....The files with descriptions are there but the files are all 0KB

I just upgraded to version 6 in hopes of maybe getting rid of any bugs but that did not seem to help the issue. Server is now also up to date on all windows updates.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any log files I can look at or upload here to be looked at to try and figure out why this is happening?

Please set log level to info, restart DVBLink server, when the issue is played back, download and attach zipped DVBLink log files to this ticket

Also be sure that the tuners does not busy by another software from time to time.

thank you, took a while but it finally did it again.

Nothing else uses the tuners on this dedicated server

however when I go to upload it... the file size is too big....zip is 274KB but it says the max is 256KB :D

I uploaded it to tinyUpload

Sorry, i can't download the log file.
Please, stop the dvblink server, remove the dvblink_server.log file form the installation folder. then start the server and reproduce the issue, also attach it here.
The file will be smaller, so you will be able to upload it here directly.

I have tried the method described to get the logfile smaller but I can never get it to shrink, this has happened 4 times now in the past few months. I have put this file on my public folder of my onedrive with the hopes of getting it to you

As i see you have set more then 440 timers, A lot of recordings are intersected by time. There are not a conflicts between them, at least i did not saw in the logs. Such big amount or recs. may cause some issue with the writing to the hdd or some network issue, so server tries to start record but can't do that due to the mentioned causes. Also may be that the tuner are not reachable in some period of time...

Yes we use this server to record 1 channel 24/7 for quality control and incase breaking news happens we can go back and grab it and review it. We also have 1 channel set to record just before, during and just after the newscast.

It may be possible that perhaps too many older programs are on there. Should I look at wiping the entire recording schedule and starting clean? Any easy way to do this?
