Virus software on server disrupting TV stream

Postby fred » Tue Jun 21, 2016 5:45 am

Hi,
I am successfully using the TV server on a WIN 7 PC, accessed by Kodi clients on RPI and WIN 7, located in another country.

I would like to share my findings that when the Microsoft Security Essentials virus software is running on the server, it is slowing down the TV stream speed, causing blocky images or even stream interruptions, on the client side. I was able to solve the problem by excluding the following processes in the Microsoft Security Essentials settings:

dvblink_mc_launcher.exe
dvblink_player.exe
dvblink_server.exe

I guess that this procedure can be done on any virus software, in case the one you use is a little too aggressive by "hitting" on the stream and therefore slowing it down.
