Update of TV Source: not amused

Postby BartZorn » Thu Dec 24, 2015 12:08 pm

Hello,

Today I updated DVBLink Server to build 12217. To my surprise, it requested me first to uninstall the old Server, before it could proceed. I did that.
Next I let it run and update TV Source to build 12217. No problem, I thought. But then I found out that all my settings had disappeared! Needless to say I am not amused.

Did I do something wrong? If not, why can't DVBLink Server not just be updated in place? Almost all software that I use can do that!

Grmphh...

If you use the provided update script in the zip you will be able to upgrade keeping all settings

Also, make a dvblink settings backup file, before doing any changing in the server (like update/upgrade ... ).
Better after a successful configuration of dvblink server (scanning/channels selecting/ ... ) make a backup. It can help to save your time in some extrim cases.

I guess I was careless because the upgrade from 5.1.0 to 5.5.0 was painless.

Now I will try to configure everything from scratch, but that is also not simple. I cannot find the dutch HD channels, only the SD ones. And when I try to start over, the 19.2E and 23.5E satellites also seem to have disappeared.

Do you mean that the satellite list or transponder list is empty? Or just there are not present 19.2 and 23.5 satellites?

In the screen where you configure satellites for a given tuner, it looks like that once you have selected a satellite it is not displayed on the drop down list again, regardless of whether it is already selected or removed again. I would prefer to have them all displayed at all time.

I have now done a fresh install of Windows 10 and DVBLink Server and TVsource.

I am using the 19.2E and 23.5E satellites. For 19.2E all seems normal, but for 23.5E there are no M7 Group channels found

I am pretty sure that the CAM and smartcard are inserted correctly, because the DD control panel shows them both and assigned to both tuners. However, I am not able to view encrypted channels. There is no problem with the smartcard registration, because when I put it in my old receiver (a SAB Unix Triple) all encrypted channels decode just fine.

The Windows Device Manager shows a missing device driver for the PCI decryption device, but it is not able to find a driver. On the DD site I cannot find any mention of a separate driver for the CI module.

I am not sure if I should put this message on this thread, or that I should start a new topic. Please let me know.
