Tuning failed on Win10 PC with DD-Cine

Postby Hubbabubba2015 » Tue Dec 22, 2015 4:27 pm

Hallo together,

I bought a new Digital Devices Cine C/C2/T/T2 V7 card and installed the newest driver (version 2.6.1.118). The card is working fine with the software, which is available with digital devices (DD-TV).
It scans fine and I can watch TV with that. So the cable and the card seems to be ok.The quality of signal seems to be ok.

With the DVBLink software I don’t get it working.

Adding TV-Sources works fine. When I then try to scan for channels it always reports “Tuning failed”. It doesn’t matter which provider list I choose.
So I assume, something between the card and the DVBLink software doesn’t work correct on my PC.

In the log I can see such entries:
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [I] Found TuningSpace
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [E] cannot initialize the tuning space
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [I] BDA logger shutdown
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [E] CTVSStreamSource::LoadAndInitDriver. Failed to start device for driver C:\Program Files\DVBLogic\DVBLink\sources\TVSource-1\devices\bda.dev, index 0, frontend 0
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [E] CTVSChannelScanner::Tune. Failed to tune to a transponder
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [I] CTVSStreamSource::LoadDriver. Loading driver C:\Program Files\DVBLogic\DVBLink\sources\TVSource-1\devices\bda.dev
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [I] DeviceGetListEx_impl: Filter [Digital Devices DVB-C/C2 Tuner 1]
2015-Dec-22 12:55:29: [I] DeviceGetListEx_impl: Filter [Digital Devices DVB-C/C2 Tuner 2]

I also reinstalled DVBLink software already completely, but no success.

Anybody who can help, what to try next or how a solution would look like?

Thx,
Stefan

Disable all software which can use the dd tuner.
Then, Please, set log level to info restart dvblink server, reproduce the issue and attach zipped log files here.

Hi,

reinstalled all again and installed it and scanned for channels. Same result as before ... tuning failed.
Before the scan I also deinstalled the DD-TV software.

Attached the logs @ info level for the failed scans.

Thx,
Stefan

As i know there should be some control panel or additional settings tool in the DD-cine installation folder. There can be some lock for stream or so.
The log contains "cannot initialize the tuning space" message. It usually appears when something still is using the tuners.

Hi,

yes there is a tool, called "DD ControlCenter" with that you can kind of disable/enable DVB-T or/and DVB-C or/and DVB-C for WMC for both tuners.

Since it is Win10 and I don't have a WindowsMediaCenter anymore I deselected DVB-T and DVB-C for WMC. Only DVB-C is selected. With this setting it is working fine on another PC with identical hard- and software.
But anyhow I was playing with different settings of these checkboxes, no success.

I also rebooted after doing these kind of changes, so the DD ControlCenter wasn't running when I start trying to scan.

Any idea?

Thx,
Stefan

Alright, got it working!!! :D

I don't know why, because on my other PC with identical Hard/Software it is working without that special setting,
but for my Issue-PC it was needed that the dvblink server service is running under my local account with admin rights and not under the local system account.
It seems the system account doesn't has the complete rights.

Starting the dvblink server service under my local account (which belongs to the Admin group) it is working fine now.

Thx and merry christmas,
Stefan
