EAC3 on Dvblink 4.6 fails

Postby bridlington » Thu Mar 20, 2014 4:45 pm

Until now I was on 4.5.3 and everything was fine. I upgraded to 4.6 and all of a sudden I had no sound stream on French HD channels which use EAC3.

I thought it was my client (XBMC) but same problem with VLC (no sound stream). I tried on various machines with either HDMI output or stereo output.

I reverted back to 4.5.3 and then I got sound back on those channels.

Thus it seams that 4.6 cannot handle EAC3 streams where as 4.5.3 can.

Is it a known issue ?

Yes, it might be related to the modifications, which we have done in the last 4.6.0 build.
Can you please do the following:
- set log level to info
- stop DVBLink server windows service
- create empty file debug.xml in dvblink\sources\<your tvsource source>
- start dvblink server windows service
- open configuration web page of that TVSource instance, go to Manage channels page and press Play button on the channel in question. Wait 20 seconds. Press stop.
- upload the *.ts file from dvblink\sources\<your tvsource source> to rapidshare/dropbox and post the download link here
- delete debug.xml file

Thanks.

Thanks. I've done what you proposed

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2k06tbeuvyumg8h/M6HD.ts

A couple of comments : the .ts file generated seems to have audio, weird. If I go to channel / channel selection / play the same channel, vlc this time does not find any audio (I checked going to audio and there was none displayed). However, if I play the generated .ts file with vlc there is one.

SO when playing the Stream with either vlc or XBMC there is no audio but the same stream stored in a file appears to have one ...

The issue is solved in the latest released build of DVBLink Server (9867) and DVBLink Connect Server (9904). Builds for Synology platform are expected soon.

OK thanks

However I'm unable to upgrade DVBLink server (not proposed as an upgrade)

No issue with Connect though.

Any link I could use to upgrade ?
