How to watch HD on low performance HTPC?

Postby cgauss » Sun Oct 01, 2017 10:43 am

first the good news:
DVBLogic runs very well on Linux Mint 18.2 it is real plug&play: insert TVButler (Tuner only) USB-Stick, install the DVBLink Player and it works.

the bad news:
the HTPC is a low performance Intel Atom platform (Shuttle HTPC). This HTPC was very well for older DVB-T with SD Quality. With Terratec Twin Receiver this HTPC worked for years at our living room with the great advantage of low power consumption.

But the new DVB-T2 with HD Quality is too much for this HTPC: TV stream is to slow, interupted and not usable to watch TV.

Is there any idea, how to get this up and running anyway?
Maybe reduce the bandwidth of the HD-Quality down to SD?

Any comments welcome!
