Timeshift not working with VLC

Postby marpo » Sun May 07, 2017 11:55 pm

Timeshift in VLC doesn't work for me. When watching a TV program (using the usual m3u having inside http://10.0.0.3:8101/dvblink/direct?cli ... l=11360000) and press pause button, it stops video as expected. Then I press pause again, video starts but a second or two later, it starts interrupting and being distorted and will never stabilize.

I use the latest VLC for Windows and DVBLogic Server on Synology.

Timeshift works well when I use Medial Player Classic or Windows Media Player.

Any idea what could be wrong with VLC?

There was/is no a Timeshift with VLC and DVBlink with Live TV at all.

PS. You may use the DVBlink Viewer on your PC for connecting to the DVBLInk Server on the NAS.
Also a good choice is to use the Kodi with the DVBlink PVR Addon (there timeshift is supported).
NETGEAR RNDU2000; Synology DS112j, DS 212j, DS213+, DS 712+; Western Digital WD ex2; Asustor AS3, RPI2 ...
PCTV 460,461e,292e; TT 4400, 4650CI;DVBSKy S960; DD octopus net; Inverto sat2ip multibox; TBS DVB-C ...

Thanks for the tip. Strange is that the TV Guide app from DVBLink suggests to use the VLC player.
Unfortunately DVBLink Viewer does not offer any pause button so I assume timeshift is not supported.
