Remaining bugs, DVB Link Player (Windows)

Postby veletron » Fri Oct 14, 2016 5:45 pm

Hi

Good to see that the initial authentication bug that prevented the use of the native windows player app has been (partly) fixed. There remains the following issues with it though:

- Where both 'viewer' and back end 'admin' authentication (different users and passwords) has been configured on the server, it is necessary to login to the player as the back-end 'admin' user first, and then to select the 'TV and Media Library' tab before logging in again as the front-end user. It should be possible to login as the 'viewer' user from the outset.

- There is a very annoying flickering green line at the bottom of the picture, this stretches right across the screen and looks to be a single pixel high. It is only present when 'transcoding' is disabled. Video card is just bog standard intel on a 3rd gen corei7

- When I try and login as the 'view-only' user in the viewer app (and it fails), then I try a second time, it crashes with the attached exception.

DVB-Link server is build 13310, the viewer was downloaded today

Thanks

Nigel

I can't say for sure, but it looks like some issues with the user rights.
Also you may try next steps:
- close the dvblink player/viewer
- remove the ~\AppData\Roaming\dvblinkplayer\settings.json
- start the app once more

I'm responding to your green line issue. Did you find a way to solve it? Because I have it too. On multiple systems, what rules out an individual PC. Also, you encountered it on an Intel GPU. Mine are a Nvidia GTX560 and a Nvidia GTX970. Both updated to the latest drivers.

Does the steps above do not help you?

No, the steps above were about the JAVA error he got. Not the green line issue.

Then please open a new topic and describe issues in details. Attach log files and describe your full configuration (OS/Hardware/tuners ... )
