Watch and scroll recorded file problem

Postby muntos » Fri Jul 22, 2016 8:59 am

So, I record a TV file (.ts extension), then I go to DVBLink web interface => TV recordings section and on clicking the play button I get a m3u8 file which I can open with any media player available on my PC (Ununtu 14.04 in this case)
The problem is that the streaming starts correctly but once I try to scroll forward to a specific time the streams stops and I can't get to play it anymore.
Do I miss something, is there a problem with the playback on my system (even I remember to have the same problem on my Windows 7 laptop...) ?

L.E. Hmm...I see that once the play stats the player doesn't recognize the video duration, so scrolling it might be a problem then...but then, how do I manage to watch the file without download it...?

What version of dvblink server do you have?
If it is the DVBLink server V6 then you may try to install the DVBlink viewer (to Windows machine) and watch the Live and Recorded TV directly there.
NETGEAR RNDU2000; Synology DS112j, DS 212j, DS213+, DS 712+; Western Digital WD ex2; Asustor AS3, RPI2 ...
PCTV 460,461e,292e; TT 4400, 4650CI;DVBSKy S960; DD octopus net; Inverto sat2ip multibox; TBS DVB-C ...

If the machines in the same network, please install the DVBlink Viewer on the Win machine and connect to the Linux DVBLink server.
Check the recordings playback there.

I'm not sure I understand, the DVBLink Server is on a QNAP NAS and I want to see the recorded files over the Internet on a Ubuntu PC (the client).
So no Windows here, just these 2 machines, is there a way to watch and be able to scroll forward/backward the recorded files in this configuration ?

Solved with the help of DVBLogic helpdesk, seems that with VLC you can scroll through video files !
