Apple TV Client

Hi,

I just download the new Apple TV application DVBLink Theater. It works pretty well and the interface is very user-friendly.
The only thing is that I have not 5.1 support in the programs and found any configuration setting to manage it. Is it planned to add 5.1 support in the apple TV application?
Thanks in advance.

It will be added in the todo list. But no any ETA and guarantee at the moment .

Hello,

I have the same problems.
Using transcoding is not possible because it needs up 90 seconds to change the channel.
Swipe left or right to switch channels is not working.
Biggest problem for me, timeshift is not working. There is no reaction if I press play/pause.

Will there be an update?

Hi!

I have another point to notify. I don't know if it has already been.
When reading my recording, when I want to go back or forward, I just have the time bar but no time displayed. It is a little embarrasing because I don't know how many time I go back or forward.
Another thing with this functionnality: Sometimes, I can't go back or forward when I pause the recording. I must close the video and reopen it to make it work.
Last thing: Button play/pause does not work. Only click on central pad can do it.

Thanks for reading.

I've been using the ATV version recently too and see similar problems with skip forward and back (getting through the adverts). It's really painful and sometimes the UI seems to be unpredictable. The ATV Controller doesn't make this any easier - wish I had skip forward and back buttons like the old remote :-(

Additionally...
- Sometimes the "scrub fwd/back panel" doesn't hide itself and sometimes it does.
- Sometimes after finding a forward point to playback from, play doesn't start.

The update should be soon. There will be some improvements in the player itself and added a Timeshift for LiveTV.

Great, can't wait...

With MCE turning into an unreliable heap of stinking poop, and Kodi not passing WAF, all my money is on DVBlink ATV client right now 8)

Any news on updates?

Still trying with the ATV client, we've taken to watching adverts now as the playback controls especially skip forward are really unusable.

Intercepting this thread with a few feature requests

1. The swipe left/right is not very user-friendly. It would be better to have a mini-channel list to the right slide-in when swiping left. It should show channel icon, name and current playing program name.
It would make it easy to see what's showing on the other channels without stopping playback on current channel. And much easier to switch to another channel far away in the playlist.

2. An setting to start showing the last used channel when starting the app. Instead of starting in EPG view.

3. In EPG mode. When selecting a programme and hit "play/pause" button it should start playing this channel.

4. Auto-stop playing after X hours. I've noticed that my wife often turn off the TV and leave the Apple TV running without closing the app. So the Apple TV keeps using the tuner many many hours until we use the Apple TV again. It would make sense to get an "alert" after 4 hours without changing channel, counting down from 60 seconds. Simple hitting OK on the alert will extend the period. If you do nothing it should stop playing.

I would be happy help working on the app, have you thought about making it an open source project?

Has anyone else experienced lost audio on the Apple TV client using .m3u playlists?

I just logged the following ticket:

"Occasionally audio on a station will be lost. This does not occur while the channel is streaming, only after you have done something like change channels and return to the original channel (and this only happens occasionally).

When this happens, if you swipe down for info there are no audio tracks shown.

The only way to resolve this is to terminate the app (from Apple TV home screen, double tap home button, locate DVBLink Theatre and swipe up). Once you do this audio is fine again.

This happens frequently enough, that I have had it occur half a dozen times in the day since I downloaded the Apple TV app."

These two requests will be added for considering of implementation.

Have faced with such issue on some BBC channels. It happened in next scenario:
- broadcasts some advertising (has MPEG Audio ), have audio
- right after advertising is over, starts movie which have another audio track (AAC/E-AC-3) - lose audio
And usually simple play/pause resolves this issue
