DVBLink IOS App/8Player freeze/stopped drg playback

Hello,

I have a big problem with the DVBLink IOS App incl. 8player. It's useless because when i start a Live TV or Recoreded Movie on a IOS Device after 30-50sec
the playback freeze/stopped and it is not possible to watch further. I have to close the 8player and start the channel again, then it works again only for 30-50sec.
It is also possible at this time that i can start another channel on another ios device or Kodi on my Win 7 PC. So the Tuner is not occupied after freezing.
I already restarted and reseted everything without any changes to my problem.

Here my Setup:
I have a Synology DS216play with the TVButler attached (all Firmware on the latest update).
I'm tried it on multiple devices (Iphones 6 (IOS 8.1) + 6sPlus (IOS 9.0.2) + Ipad mini (IOS 8.1.2)) all with the same issue.
My first opinion was that the 8Player lite will cause the problem but also with the full version of the 8player i have the same problem.
It also doesn't matter if i'm in my local wifi at home or at another wifi.

I tried Kodi on my Windows 7 PC and there works everything as it should and also on the VLC player for IOS on my devices it works as it should!?!
I searched in the DVBLink Wiki and in the forum if someone has the same problem but without success.
What could be the problem?

It's really anoying, I spend a amount of money to a software which doesn't work as it promised especially on IOS.

Furthermore i have some inputs/improvements which would be great for the future:

- DVBLink IOS APP: with a included own player
- DVBLink IOS APP: Deleting recorded movies without confirmation is really a problem, due to play and delete button so close together. (in the web application there is a confirmation before deleting)
- Synology DS216play video transcoding (it's useless to watch live tv oder recorded movies on a mobile internet (due to huge amount of data))
- ATV 4 APP
- A small edit programm for the recorded movies to cut the beginning and the end and remove the commercials in the movie. Currently i have to download the movies and
edit them with a 3rd party software. After that it is not possible to put it back in the recorded movie folder.
- A setting to reduce/adjust the quality for a recorded movie. 7-9GB is pretty to much for a recorded movie
- Twin tuner stick

Otherwise i'm very satisfied with the idea and how it is implemented. As writen above, a few improvements in the future and it would be a great product and software.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Many thanks

brgds
Daniel

Can you please, set log level to info, restart DVBLink server, reproduce the issue and attach zipped log files here.
Also please indicate is this the HD or SD channels. (Could it be that the device can't handle with the HD stream or just wifi connection is too weak for that? )

PS. A lot of your requests will be added into the new version of DVBLink.

As for streaming more then one channel from the one Tuner - it is possible but only the channels from the same transponder. Otherwise you have to connect more tuners.

Many thanks for your quick reply.
I will post the new log file in the evening when i'm back at home.

I doesn't matter if SD or HD channels, and yes i know that you can only watch the same programm or the same transponder on several devices with only one Tuner. (This is why i waiting for the Twin Tuner Stick :-P)

The funny thing is that with the VLC player on my IOS devices it works without any problem , so i don't think that the wifi connection ist the problem.

Could it be possible that the DVBlink server gets no feedback from the IOS Devices and disconnect automatically the connection, because i can watch after freezing any programm on my other devices.

Can you expect when the new DVBlink version will be released and which improvements are included?

Many thanks for your help

Can you, please, go to 8Player -> Video -> DVBLink DLNA server -> start to play any of channels? Results?

Hello,

Find attached the requested logfile.

When i start the stream directly in the 8Player it works without any problems!

Do you have any idea why my stream will stop/freeze after a few seconds, when i start something directly in the DVBLink IOS APP?

There is a lot attempts to start Live TV via DVBLInk app and via DLNA with 8player.
Can you please, restart dvblink server and reproduce the only one scenario (DVBLink IOS App/8Player freeze/stopped drg playback) ? And new log files, please.

PS. At the moment i do not see anything specific that can lead to this issue.

Find attached the requested logfile.

After resart of the TV server, 2 attempts with 2 different channels (1 HD and 1 SD channel) via DVBLink IOS App. Same result as always.

There is a new version of the iOS app (3.5.1). Have you tried it?

Hello,

I have tried yesterday with the new app, and it was at first the same issue, video was freezing after a few seconds.
Afterwards i changed the IP from external to internal and it works.
So it seems that my router or firewall disconnect the connection from outside of my homenetwork after a few seconds.
I have to check my router if there is a setting for this. So currently i can use the Tv Server only in my homenetwork.
By the way:
Do you have already an estimate when the Synology DS216play will support videotranscoding?

Many thanks for your assistance

Not sure it is the same issue, but since 8-Player went to version 3, the DVBLink iOS app won't work with it anymore. And since the native player of DVBLink is still very immature, the app has become pretty useless for watching recorded TV. I was able to work around this issue by removing the new 8-Player app and putting back the old 2 version. Maybe you can do the same. I cannot attach the "8player lite 2.14.ipa" file here, but if you are also using Windows iTunes then look for it under "C:\Users\<user>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications". Make a backup copy of the file and then do the following. Remove "8 Player lite" from your iDevice and maybe also iTunes, then drag the old .ipa file into Windows iTunes. Connect your iDevice, select it, go to Apps, search 8 Player, check Install and Apply. Now you can select the external 8 Player app again and smoothly play back your recordings. :)

I really hope DVBLogic will come up with a solution soon.
