[Solved] Android client 3.0.2 ignores server settings

Postby Oceanwaves » Thu Nov 05, 2015 7:46 am

Hi,

I'm using the DVBLink app (v3.0.2) on Android 5.1.1. The server is v5.5.0 (current build) on a Synology DS214play (DSM 5.1).

I noticed a problem when adding recordings using the app. Usually recordings are configured to start 10 minutes earlier and to stop 30 minutes later (configured on the server, I found no option to configure this within the app). When using the app these times are ignored, recordings start and end at the scheduled time which means that I often miss the beginning and/or end of a recording.

Because of this I completely stopped using the app which is sad as I like the new look.

Most probably you are running v5.1.0 on your NAS. Please update it to v5.5.0 and it should be fine.

Hello,

I think I have the same issue. Server 5.5.0 on synology DSM 5.2.
Client android version 3.0.2.

I like to start recording 5 minutes earlier and to add 10 minutes at the end. With the old client (and older server) this worked.

Lack of information.
Please, conduct next test:
- go to dvblink web-client -> settings -> recorder -> set start/stop time as you want (5/10 respectively)
- go to your app and program some record which is going to start in (approximately )10 minutes or more
- go to monitoring tab at dvblink web UI and observe "Is this current recording start in correct time?"
The right time is: time indicated in EPG for particular record plus margins (start/stop) you have set in recorder settings. So duration of such recording should be: time indicated in EPG plus 15 minutes( in your case)

EPG Time 11:48 - 11:50
Record starts 11:48 -11:50

Duration of recording 1:42 minutes (vlc)

An recording programmed via web-client works as expected.

As I wrote in my original post I'm running version 5.5.0:

DVBLink Server Version 5.5.0 Build 11998
DVBLink TV Adviser Version 5.5.0 Build 11779
DVBLink TVSource Version 5.5.0 Build 11943

I configured start/stop time to 0/0, saved this, changed it to 10/30 minutes again and saved this again.

At 16:40 I programmed a 30 minutes broadcast (17:00 - 17:30) using the app. The recording started at 17:00, not at 16:50. And it stopped at 17:30. Total recording time: 29 min 55 sec.

Yes there is really an issue, and it will be fixed with the next release.
