iOS 9 app crashes

Postby wbmk » Tue Oct 27, 2015 12:14 pm

I have setup the new app so it uses a local(home) IP adress (192.168.50.xxx). The app works fine (except for the scheduled recordings tab) when i am at home.

When i open the app while on a different LAN (work wifi), i think the app can't find the server (this is normal, because it is not running on my work-lan), but the app crashes insted of reporting to me that the server could not be found.
When i disable WiFi, and try again (while on 3G) the app still crashes instead of givving me a 'Server not found' error.

Of course the autodiscover can't find any dvblink servers if ipad connected to other subnetwork than dvblink server.
To be able to connect to your dvblink server from, for instanse from work (and server located at home) you have to open 8100-8101 ports on your router or if router supports upnp port forwarding, you can turn on "Forward streaming port:" at settings tab on dvblink web UI. Then on the configuration page in app you need to enter your external ip address(instead local one)

Thank you form your reply

I allready have openend the port's. In the previous version of the app, i used this method with succes.

I want to add this external IP information in the DVBlink app on my iPhone, but the app crashes before i can add the info.
When starting the app (wich is allready configured to use a local LAN ip) on an external wifi (work), the app does not give me an error stating the server can't be reached, it just crashes.

I have added the server log, hope this help's

Same issue here. When server out of reach the app just crashes. Why not showing an error message or the select server page?

Hi,

I have the same issue as described above, i.e.
- While using an iPad with iOS 9.0 and the old app everything works fine from within and outside the local network (via DynDNS)
- While using an iPhone 5s with iOS 9.1 and the new app everything works within the local network
- While using an iPhone 5s with iOS 9.1 and the new app and connecting through the Internet (via DynDNS) with the same settings as with the old app the app crashes immediately.

I am looking forward to a solution to this problem.

You've written about crash with "Dyndns"connection on a iPhone 5s, but What about iPad? Is there the same behaviour?

On the iPad I have still the old app which is working as always fine, both, locally and via the Internet. I will upgrade the app only when all is fixed with the new app :)

Issue solved !!!

In the app I have created a new connection to my Server, but this time I deactivated on my iPhone under "Settings - General - Keyboard"

- Auto correction and
- Suggestions

before entering the Login data in the DVBLink app. I can swear that the login data in the app looked the same as before. But this time I succeeded in connecting to my server. I don't know what made the difference but auto correction and suggestions seem bad for filling the login screen.
